SWABI: Robbers deprived at gunpoint a businessman of Rs1 million in Tordher area of Chota Lahor tehsil here on Friday, traders and police said.

Police said that four motorcyclists chased the trader, Atifullah, and intercepted him in Tordher, depriving him of Rs1 million cash at gunpoint.

The incident occurred near the house of Abdul Karim, adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.

Registering FIR in Tordher police station, Atifullah said he was returning home along with his nephew, Abdul Basit, on a bike after closing his shop located in vegetable market at Tordher that four unidentified motorcyclists stopped them at Shahbaz Lara and put pistols to their heads. He said that the assailants threatened to kill them if they made any attempt to escape or put up resistance.

“We were told to hand over cash silently. So I gave them Rs1 million, which I was carrying with me,” he told reporters.

Police, after registering FIR against unidentified robbers, started investigations.
