KARACHI: Two suspected militants were killed in a shootout with the personnel of Pakistan Rangers near Northern Bypass on Tuesday, officials said.

They added the Rangers conducted a raid in Khairabad, an isolated area near Northern Bypass, on intelligence reports about the presence of some militants and criminal elements. In an ensuring encounter, two militants were killed, according to the spokesman for the paramilitary force.

He said the Rangers also seized arms, explosive and other material used in preparing improvised explosive devices from their hideout.
