LAHORE: The City District Government Lahore says it has completed all administrative, logistic and security arrangements in collaboration with police and other departments concerned on the eve of a major mourning procession to be taken out to mark martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) on Monday (today).

The procession will culminate at Karbala Gamay Shah after being taken out from Mubarik Haveli, according to a spokesman.

“We have installed 136 cameras on the procession route from Mubarik Haveli to Karbala Gamay Shah via various bazaars and localities of the Walled City. The cameras have been linked with the main control room set up at the office of the district coordination officer,” spokesman Imran Maqbool told Dawn on Sunday.

He said besides police, a number of volunteers had also been deployed on the route.

Meanwhile, the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) managing director says as many as 150 sanitary workers along with machinery and necessary gadgets would remain on duty on the route of the procession to mark Youm-i-Ali.
