SUKKUR: Lawyers continued boycott of courts in several Sindh towns on the second consecutive day on Wednesday against kidnapping of Advocate Awais Shah, son of chief justice of Sindh High Court, Sajjad Ali Shah.

The call for the protest was given by the Sindh Bar Council.

In Sukkur, president of Sukkur chapter of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), Qurban Malano and general secretary Hadi Bhatt, warned at a press conference that lawyers would launch a movement if the government failed to recover Mr Shah within three days.

They said that Mr Shah’s kidnapping was aimed at weakening the judiciary, like the attack on former Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar. Meanwhile, Sukkur lawyers continued boycott of courts proceedings on the second consecutive day.

In Khairpur, lawyers boycotted courts in protest against the kidnapping of the CJ’s son and later took out a procession from the district bar association office, which marched to the press club.

The lawyers’ leaders demanded early recovery of the advocate and urged the government to take prompt action against criminals.

In Naushahro Feroze and its adjoining towns of Moro, Bhria City and Kandiaro, lawyers boycotted courts and called for immediate recovery of the CJ’s son and arrest of the kidnappers.

In Badin, Thar and adjoining towns of Tando Bago and Matli lawyers continued boycott of courts against the kidnapping of the CJ’s son and staged demonstrations outside courts premises.

In Mithi, lawyers boycotted courts and staged demonstrations, demanding early recovery of the CJ’s son.
