GWADAR: A procession was taken out on Thursday to protest the killing of five people, among them three government engineers, in Kech.

On May 15, three engineers and two contractors were kidnapped from the Dasht area of Kech district and their bodies were found in the mountainous area of Saijee after a week.

Participants including families, members of civil society, political activists, traders and people of various organisations carrying placard and banners marched on the main roads of Turbat.

Protesters gathered at the Turbat Chowk where relatives of Mir Hamal Baloch, Bijar Baloch, Mir Gul Khan Baloch, Shabbir Ahmed Rind and another deceased addressing the participants demanded immediate arrest of the killers. They said that the people had tolerated enough and now they would not allow killing of the innocent in the name of freedom movement. They vowed to resist such activities and criticised the local administration for sending engineers and contractors without providing security.

They demanded a judicial commission comprising high court judges to probe the killings and urged national and international human rights organisations to take notice of the killings.
