LAHORE: Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed has warned of protest inside and outside the assembly if the government fails to include opposition’s proposals in the upcoming Punjab budget.
Speaking to media persons at his public secretariat here on Monday, Mr Rasheed said the country was facing a constitutional crisis in the absence of the prime minister as nobody could be entrusted to perform in his place through a notification.
He said the government and democracy was threatened by the rulers and their courtiers themselves.
He said the government itself would be responsible if the system derailed.
The opposition leader said the government should invest more on public welfare projects instead of unnecessary mega projects.
He said the government should allocate maximum funds for education, health, safe drinking water and agriculture sectors.
Wishing the prime minister good health, he, however, said that Mr Sharif’s London visit had created a constitutional crisis.
He said that the rulers would be compelled to answer about the allegations leveled in the Panama Leaks.
He also made it clear that the PTI would come out on roads if it did not act upon the joint TOR for probe into the Panama Leaks.
