LAHORE: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police claimed on Monday to have arrested a member of proscribed organisation Hizbut Tahreer for distributing anti-state material in Mughalpura.

A CTD spokesman claimed that they received information that a man was distributing anti-state and hate material among the public.

He said the police team conducted a raid at Canal Chowk in Mughalpura and arrested the suspect who was identified as Muhammad Asif. The suspect belonged to banned outfit Hizbul Tehreer.

He said they also recovered 32 books and 104 pamphlets containing hate literature from his custody.

The suspect was shifted to undisclosed location for further interrogation, the spokesman added.
