RAWALPINDI: The runway in Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad (BBIA) will be closed on Monday due to unspecified “operational” reasons from 1pm till 6pm, a spokesperson for the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCCA) said.

The runway was closed off last Monday as well for the same times.

The aviation authority had already issues a Notice to Airmen (NoTAM) to all airlines about the closure of the runway and airlines have made adjustments to their flight schedules accordingly. Passengers have been requested to confirm their flight timings from the airline they are travelling with before leaving for the airport in order to avoid being inconvenienced.

Pakistan International Airlines has also rescheduled its flights and has requested passengers to confirm their flights from the flights’ call centre.
