Research Wing: A research and development wing will be established at the Walton Academy of Pakistan Railways (PR) to make it a modern training institute.

A two-member committee was constituted to formulate recommendations for the purpose by Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique while presiding over a meeting at the Walton Academy here on Saturday.

Comprising PR Chief Executive Officer Javed Anwar and Adviser on Railways Anjum Pervaiz, the committee would submit its recommendations within a month.

In order to accommodate all the railways staff engaged in operations in the refresher courses, the minister said the Academy should have only one day-off and training sessions should also be held on Saturdays.

He also directed that the organizational structure of the Academy should be improved to make it a better institution.
