PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Saturday removed from service a civil judge-cum-judicial magistrate, Niamatullah Khan, serving in Lower Dir, on charges of misconduct.

According to a press release, the judge was issued a show-cause notice after credible evidence of delinquency established misconduct on his part, and as his reply was not satisfactory, the competent authority proceeded against him removed him from service under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2011.

The press release stated that as acts of the officer amounted to misconduct which was not tolerable, keeping the officer in the judicial service was highly uncalled-for and undesirable and thus, a major penalty of removal from service was imposed on him with immediate effect.
