PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has handed over a cheque of Rs132 million to the provincial government which had been recovered from officials of various departments under voluntary return (VR).

The cheque was handed over by NAB Director General Shehzad Saleem to additional secretary finance department Mohammad Asim Khattak at a function here the other day, according to a statement issued on Saturday. The huge money was embezzled by officials of Peshawar Development Authority, public health engineering department, local government and rural development department, forest management committee and health department.

The NAB DG said corruption was the main hurdle to achieving the targets of development and stability. He said every member of the society should play role in eradicating corruption and putting the country on track of development and progress.
