ISLAMABAD: Finally, the Marghazar Zoo will get a pair of lions as a team of health experts is in Lahore Safari Park to bring them to Islamabad.

Dr Bilal Ahmed Khilji, the head of the team, while talking to Dawn from Lahore on Saturday evening said after a long effort the management of the Lahore Safari Park had agreed to give the pair to Marghazar Zoo.

“According to an agreement we will provide a pair of zebra and barking deer to Safari Park in return for the lions.

Replying to question, he said the age of the pair would be confirmed after receiving them, he said.

“I, along with my six staff members, have been sitting here and documentation is being completed. Hopefully we will leave for Islamabad on Sunday evening,” he said.

While replying to another question Dr Khilji said that the pair of lions would be shifted by road.

“Though it can be dangerous but my team members are experienced and they can handle the animals so we will shift the pair quite safely,” he said.
