LAHORE: Temperatures on Thursday once again started rising in the plains and the Met department forecast extremely hot weather in most parts of the country during the next few days due to clear skies.

The highest maximum temperature in the country was recorded in Dadu which was 49 degrees Celsius. Sibi and Jacobabad recorded 48, Moenjodaro 47, Larkana and Rahim Yar Khan 46, Lahore 42 and Multan 41.

The Met office said that temperatures were bound to once again rise especially in Sindh and adjoining Balochistan and South Punjab during the next few days.

It expected mainly very hot and dry weather in most plain areas of the country, and light rain/thunderstorm at one or two places in Fata, Kohat and Gujranwala divisions in the next 24 hours.

Rain in most parts of the country on Sunday and Monday had, to the much relief of the people, broken the extended spell of extremely hot weather.
