KARACHI: Army, who are trailing way behind the leaders Navy, created further dent when their shooters picked up one more gold medal in the centre fire pistol team event of the 23rd National Shooting Championship at the PN Shooting Range, Karsaz, on Thursday.

The rejuvenated soldiers thumped sailors by winning top honours in the team event after M. H. Tabassum had done Navy proud in the centre fire pistol individual competition.

Tabassum amassed a score of 572 to pick up the gold as M. Kabeer and M. Boota, both of Army, seized silver and bronze respectively the score being 568 and 562.

But Army fought with vigour to clinch the team gold with score of 1680 depriving Navy who collected 1674 score. The PAF took the bronze with a total of 1604.
