In recent decades, the number of MBA programmes and marketing departments at American universities has spiked. However, of the more than 4,000 colleges in the country, fewer than 100 offer programmes or classes exclusively devoted to sales. That’s in sharp contrast to the fact that more than 50pc of American college graduates, regardless of their majors, will initially get a job in sales, according to data from the Sales Education Foundation.
