RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Home Department has directed police across the province and the Pakistan Rangers to make foolproof security arrangements in light of intelligence that a group of 25 to 30 terrorists have planned suicide bombings in different parts of the country.

According to the intelligence, the suicide bombers belong to the ex-Tariq Geedar group led by Omer Mansoor, residing in border area of Nangerhar province of Afghanistan.

It said the terrorists had planned suicide bombings in various cities of Pakistan. In this regard, the Nadra office located in Torkham will be their prime target.

The home department also directed the authorities concerned to call a meeting of divisional intelligence committees and review the security of government installations and other buildings.

The law enforcement agencies were directed to keep not only an eye on suspects, but provide security to the buildings identified in the intelligence report.

Regular combing and search operations should be carried out in the targeted areas.

Meanwhile, the Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Rawalpindi has intimated the capital territory police citing the intelligence to make foolproof security around a restaurant which is frequently visited by foreigners.
