ISLAMABAD: A fire broke out in a kiosk located in F-6 sector on Sunday evening.

It took over one hour for three fire tenders of the CDA to extinguish the flames.

The CDA fire and rescue officials said around 5:45pm they received an emergency call and the fire tenders were sent to the site near a petrol pump in Sector F-6.

They said there was a kiosk (food outlet) and adjacent to it were shops of tyres and a bicycle mender.

The operators of the kiosk collected garbage and put them on fire. However, the flames reached the kiosk and the bicycle shop.

Before the firefighters put out the flames in about an hour, a goat belonging to the bicycle mender died in the fire, said Chaudhry Nadeem, the fire control supervisor. He said several bicycles and new and old tyres were also gutted.

“We were very worried about the flames because the kiosk and the bicycle shop are located near a petrol pump,” he said.
