APROPOS the letter ‘Teenage drivers’ (April 27). This issue needs the immediate attention of the concerned authorities. I and my colleagues were travelling from Faisalabad to Gujranwala a few days ago. There is a sign on the motorway entrance which clearly states; ‘no kids on front seat’.

We stopped at a rest area and were surprised to see a boy of not more than 15 years driving a car on the motorway. The couple comfortably sitting on the back seat were his parents, who did not seem to realise the risk they were posing to themselves and other users of the highway. I happen to see a lot of accident cases brought to our hospital because of this negligence.

The authorities need to take action against the violation of traffic rules.
