SHANGLA: Village and neighborhood councillors in Bisham tehsil have resented delay in completion of the Shang grid station, which has worsened loadshedding problem in the area.

Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, Shahid Anwar Khan of Kunshi village council said that work on the grid station had been started in 2014, but despite the passage of over two years it could not be completed.

Another nazim, Amir Zada said that with the construction of Khan Khwar hydropower project in Bisham, locals were suspecting that they would get rid of prolonged power outages and low voltage, but to no avail.

The councillors said the local people had time and again demanded of the authorities concerned to resume work on the grid, but in vain. “We are already facing power outages and low voltage. We have been demanding of the adviser to prime minister and PML-N leader Amir Muqam and other concerned authorities to resume work on the Shang grid station to resolve power related issues of the people,” said councillor Nowsherwan.

The local bodies’ representatives threatened that the people of Bisham tehsil would launch a protest movement if work on the grid station was not resumed.
