LAHORE: The united opposition in Punjab has written a letter to all political parties’ leaders particularly opposition parties to join hands and develop a joint strategy to go ahead for investigation into Panama Leaks.

The united opposition’s letter issued here on Saturday has been signed by opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed, Jamaat-i-Islami parliamentary leader Dr Waseem Akhtar, PPPP deputy parliamentary leader Khurram Jahangir Wattoo and PML-Q deputy parliamentary leader Waqas Hassan Moakal.

The letter says the opposition parties in Punjab Assembly feel that Pakistan has been defamed at international level with the naming of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members in the Panama Leaks for corruption. It says almost all political parties make tall claims to end corruption and bring back the looted money back home but nothing concrete could ever happen on this front. Now, the letter says, the time has come to take solid steps and all those corrupt should be held accountable.

The united opposition has urged all political and religious parties’ heads to end differences and join hands to develop a consensus strategy to deal with the national issues – Panama Leaks.

Meanwhile, talking to media persons, Mr Rasheed said any party that would stay silent on Panama Leaks would be considered anti-people.
