The police, however, said that they could not book any person in the murder case without investigation and can’t rely on the information provided by a fortune teller.

“Our first priority is to trace the real killers,” Malik Naeem, Jatli police SHO said while talking to Dawn. He said they would take up the cases registered under anti-terrorism act against more than 120 villagers after the arrest of murderers of the boy.

“Police have been doing homework on the FIR registered against villagers on terrorism charges but our first priority is to trace the culprits involved in the boy’s murder,” Malik Naeem said and added: “I shall investigate this case on merit and those found involved in violence and inciting villagers against police would not be spared.”

According to the FIR, the police party was shifting the body of Mohsin Ali to hospital for postmortem when a large number of villagers blocked the way of the police van.

He said a woman was also involved in the henious crime was on the run.

“Yes, the police have detained four persons including one of his cousins and a prayer leader of a local mosque, but the police are not sharing anything regarding investigation,” Mazhar told Dawn.
