KHAR: A soldier of the Frontier Corps (FC) was killed on Monday when suspected militants attacked a military post in Mohmand tehsil of Bajaur Agency from across the Afghan border.

According to security officials, militants suspected to be hiding in Afghanistan’s Kunar province attacked the border post in the Ghaki pass area, roughly 22km from the agency headquarters Khar.

The security forces returned fire, but any causality on the other side could not be confirmed, the officials said. The funeral prayers for the deceased were offered at the Bajaur Scouts Headquarters here. A large number of people, including security officials and tribal elders, attended the funeral.

The elders expressed concern over the attack and said they were ready to fight alongside the security forces against the militants.
