TIMERGARA: The watchmen of the government schools here on Monday announced to move the Peshawar High Court against the 24 hours duty they are forced to perform.

The decision was taken at a meeting of all class-IV employees association at Talash with its general secretary Mohammad Nazir in the chair.

The participants rejected the government’s decision of 24-hours duty for watchmen and demanded of the chief minister to issue a fresh notification regarding eight-hour-duty for them.

They said the government primary schools in the province had only one class-IV employee who was being forced to perform duty as watchman and naib qasid. They said it was against the human rights and the constitution of Pakistan.

NET HYDEL PROFIT: Provincial minister for finance Muzafar Syed on Monday said the federal government had agreed to pay Rs25 billion out of Rs70 billion in net hydel profit to the province this year.

Speaking at a function organised by Jamaat-i-Islami at Khwar Koto, a suburban village of Timergara, he said since 1992 it was for the first time that the provincial government was receiving such a huge amount from the centre, adding the rest of the outstanding dues would be paid in annual installments.

The minister said that the ongoing development projects in Timergara urban council would cost Rs170 million. He said he had got approval from the government for setting up Rescue 1122 service in Dir, recruitment for which had been started.

Mr Syed asked the participants to identify officials who were involved in corruption.

On the occasion, PTI local leader Kashif Khan along with relatives and supporters announced to quit the party and joined the JI.

UPLIFT FUNDS: Opposition leader in Balambat Tehsil Council Saifullah Khan alleged that opposition members were not being taken into confidence in decision making.

In a statement he alleged that the ruling Jamaat-i-Islami did not want development of the area. He said opposition members were even not invited to the official functions.

He said Khall feeder was inaugurated thrice but work on it could not be started as yet. He demanded of the high ups of the local government department to ask the Balambat tehsil nazim to distribute development funds equally among treasury and opposition members.

PLAYERS’ TRIALS BEGIN: The week-long trials for under-23 players began here on Monday. An opening ceremony in this regard was held at the rest house ground chaired by district nazim Mohammad Rasool Khan.

Trials for cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, basketball and badminton are being held and the players would take part in sports’ competitions.
