KARACHI: The counter-terrorism department of the city police claimed on Saturday night to have killed two suspected militants in an encounter in Quaidabad area.

The CTD personnel, helped by an intelligence agency, conducted a raid on a militant hideout during which they came under attack. In an ensuing battle, two suspects got killed.

A senior police officer, who wished not to be named, told Dawn that the killed militants belonged to the Al Qaeda in the Indian Sub-Continent (AQIS). The officer described those killed as “high-value target”.
