Very sad news. Brilliant music director. No one is going forget his haunting melodies. Absolute legend. "Sona Na Chandi Na Kohi Mahal" from Bandish will always remain my favorite. Majority of Robin Ghosh's songs were copied by Bollywood. RIP Robin Ghosh.

Oh! What a fine musician he was. I still remember all the lilting, humming tunes he created. His music was the corner stone of our film industry along with his superb actress wife Shabnam in 60's and 70's. What he created is a legend now. A sad loss. RIP Sir.

I first came to know of Robin Ghosh in Europe when a Pakistani introduced to me told me about him, seeing we both have the same family name. By the way, Shabnam is also from Bangladesh /former East Pakistan (but this Ghosh is from India). Her actual name is Jharna Basak.

Robin Ghosh has little connection with Bangladesh and its culture. He spent most of his creative life in Pakistan Film Industry and missed the most historic year of Bangladesh.

@Ghosh He was not from India .. He was born in Iraq to an Iraqi mother during his father's posting there and his brother was a famous Bengali film director. Shabnum (Jharna Basak) and Robin Ghosh were attached to Lollywood during its golden era in 1960's /1970s and Shabnum's last film in Pakistan was released in 1997. Robin Ghosh music will live on forever as one of legendary musician .. May his soul rest in peace.

Robin Sahib RIP, What was musician he was, he will be live for ever for his melodious tones which he composed for Pakistan Film Industry during its Golden Era. He started from scratches, following Theodore Roosevelt's famous quote, "Do what you can, with you have and wherever you are." He never assigned any song to Noor Jehan because of her strong arrogance and lobbying. Despite lacking such a big name in his account he made songs for Roona Laila, Mehnaz, Nayyara Noor, Mehdi Hassan, Ikhlaq Ahmed, Ghulam Abbas, Ahmed Rushdi, Alamgir etc. I have an emotional attachment with his compositions because I grew up during that period and his songs gave me a hope for otherwise a bleak future. Thank you Sir for everything.
