ISLAMABAD: Notices have been issued to the residents who refused to give details of their tenants to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra).
A statement issued by the Interior Ministry on Tuesday stated that on the directives of Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan the notices were issued to those who refused to give the details.
The statement stated that the reason behind colleting the details of the people residing in Islamabad on rent were to provide complete and comprehensive security to the residents of the city.
“According to law the residents are bound to submit the details of people residing in their residential buildings to police,” the statement stated adding that if they failed to provide the details, the exit and entry points of the buildings would be sealed.
It further stated that over all the residents of the city cooperate with the police and Nadra in submitting the details, but some of them were reluctant.
Officials in the interior ministry stated that the notices were served on them on Tuesday. There are about 300 foreigners and locals, but the majority of them are foreigners who refused to give the details, they added.
There were some houses which were also found locked whenever the teams of police and Nadra visited there for the details, they said.
