QUETTA: Two suspected militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Zhob area on Monday.

A spokesman for the Frontier Corps said that the paramilitary troops along with the intelligence personnel launched an operation in the area close to the Pak-Afghan border after receiving information about the presence of some militants there.

“Two armed men were killed in the heavy exchange of fire,” he said.

Weapons seized

Two submachine-guns and two hand-grenades were recovered from their possession, the FC spokesman added.

According to APP, the clash started when the militants opened fire at the security personnel.

It was not immediately clear which group the suspects belonged to.

Further investigation was under way.
