KARACHI: Representatives of various seminaries and religious scholars met the city commissioner at his office on Monday and assured their support in the anti-polio vaccination campaign scheduled to be launched in the city’s high-risk neighbourhoods next week.
Officials said the representatives of around a dozen seminaries in Karachi along with the director of the Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, University of Karachi, had a meeting with commissioner Asif Hyder Shah during which the latter sought their support especially to win over parents of the children living in certain localities of Karachi.
