House gutted in Bisham

SHANGLA: A house was gutted in Batkot area near Bisham city here on Saturday.

Police said that the fire broke out in a room of the house due to electricity short-circuit, spreading to other rooms in no time and reducing the household items to ashes.

The area people rushed to the house soon after the flames and smoke started rising from the house. After hectic efforts, they managed to put out the fire.

During the rescue work, a local nazim, Nowsherawan, became unconscious due to intensity of the fire. However, no one was injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, bodies of two miners, who had died in an explosion in a coalmine in Darra Adamkhel on Friday, reached their native areas here on Saturday. The victims were identified as Israr of Chakesar and Rozi Afsar of Basi Alpuri.

A large number of people attended their funeral prayers.
