SWABI: Three people, including chairman of a village council, were killed and two others injured when two groups clashed here on Friday.
The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Kalu Khan police station. The police quoted the injured, Intizar Khan as saying that the firing started when members of a group attacked the house of their rival.
He said the members of the two groups had exchanged harsh words over a petty issue, which led to the clash. As a result, Mohammad Saeed and Basirat Begum, who was a guest in the house of Saeed, from one group and Asghar Khan, chairman of Rashaki village council, from the other group, were killed on the spot. A boy, Mohammad Hassan, who was passing by the place at the time of the firing, was also injured.
The injured were taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor, where doctors said that the injured boy was in precarious condition. Police said they were investigating the incident.
