PESHAWAR: Two persons, including a naib nazim of the village and neighbourhood council, were shot dead and four others were injured in a clash over a property dispute in the limits of Bhanmari police station here on Friday evening.

A police official told Dawn that the incident occurred in the Civil Colony area of the city. He said the victims were identified as naib nazim Fida Mohammad and Younas, while the four injured were Alamgir, Awal Sher, Shakir and Haris.

Meanwhile, a policeman sustained injuries when unidentified attackers opened fire on him in the limits of Phandu police station on Friday.

Police identified the policeman as Abdur Rehman, a Counter-Terrorism Department official. He was shot and injured near the Khattak Chowk close to his home, when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on him. He sustained bullet injuries and was taken to the Lady Reading Hospital. The accused managed to escape from the scene, while police registered a case against the unknown assailants.
