Pakistan Super League tickets put on sale

LAHORE: Authorities of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have put tickets of the league on sale worldwide at kyazoonga.ae/psl.
A press release issued by the PSL stated: “With a ticket strategy tailor-made to facilitate enthusiastic cricket fans, ticket prices for the single headers start from an extremely affordable AED 20 [UAE currency] while tickets for play-offs, double headers, and the final start from AED 30.”
The release added: “HBL PSL is bringing together top international cricketers from different countries to play 24 matches in Dubai and Sharjah from Feb 4 to 23, 2016.”
The PSL tickets will also be available at multiple leading outlet chains across the UAE starting next week. A full list of these outlets will be announced next week.
Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators lost the availability of Jason Holder as the West Indies Cricket Board did not issue him NOC. Now Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera will replace Holder.
Interestingly, the PSL picked up Holder in the team, without demanding an NOC from him.
Earlier, three English players — Sam Billings, James Vince, and Chris Jordan — also expressed their unavailability for the whole PSL as they have to go to South Africa on Feb 17 to play a league there.
Reports are also emerging from some quarters that Lahore Qalandars’ Chris Gayle, one of the top PSL foreign recruits who is currently playing Big Bash in Australia, is consulting doctors on his back operation.
If left-handed Gayle succeeds in getting a date for the operation during his stay in Australia he will not be able to play the PSL because the big hitter will be requiring at least two-month rest after the operation.
A successful operation at this time is also necessary for Gayle, if he doesn’t want to miss out the cash-rich Indian Premier League due in April.

Top international cricketers? Hardly 4 or 5 players are known, no one knows anything about the rest. Moreover, with so many dropping out, psl is going nowhere!

@JM , You seem pretty concerned? :p With exception of 2,3 domestic English players, everyone knows about rest of them. BTW the actual targeted audience, the Pakistani community throughput the world, knows about all of them so you better not worry. :) Gayle will be a big miss and Lahore needs to replace him with someone as big hitter as Gayle. Richard Levi of south africa or Kushal Parera of Sri Lanka if he is indeed allowed to play domestic league. Outside chance can also be taken on Muhammad Shahzad of Afghanistan. He looked in good hitting form in series against Zimbabwe and can also keep while freeing Rizwan as a specialist batter and fielder.

I have said this on many occasions, work is being done in the background to discourage foreign players to be part of this league. I had my doubts on Gayle anyway. Pak should look beyond foreign players,and make the model work regardless of which country the players are from. Pak is not Bangladesh/Sri Lanka or even West Indies, where the league will to work without foreigners. Let me remind the saboteurs that Pak has a population of 200 million with 65 million middle class, and most of the rich live abroad including the Middle East. The true fans of Pak cricket can make this a success, i for one will be flying to watch the final.

It doesn't matter if they play or not. He publicity that PSL got from them is more then enough of a push for a grand first season! I would be interested in seeing a mix of old Pakistani greats with new talent displaying their magic on the field. It's already a hit.

Without foreign players I question the wisdom of holding the tournament in uae. The Ipl is partly successful because it has cream of foreign players. Psl won't have the same bite without Gayle .

@Anuj don't you worry about PSL you will feel the difference once the PSL got their first edition completed.... even with this team we know how to beat your overrated indian team in your backyard..... don't forget last series in 2012.... on a single day any team can win but to find out the class whole series is the right medium.... as we have no shame to say that England played better than us in limited overs this time.... but your team is way way below.... in multi team competitions even Ireland can beat England or Australia or any team but they can do in full series

Its never easy to make out a successful premier league. PSL is definitely a good initiative but it is a long-term agenda that can be fulfilled only by time.

I'd like to see a successful PSL but here's where the problem arises.....The league planners and backers promised too much too soon.....They promised the best stars from world cricket ,they promised sold out venues without actually having neither of them confirmed....Now it seems to be all downhill from there.....Lastly ,there isn't a sizable population of Pakistanis in the UAE who can afford or have the time to attend these matches....while alienating the largest majority of the expat population which are Indians by far in the Arab world....Do you get my drift ????

These types of leagues are not affected by the absence of one foreign player. If Gayle goes, he will be replaced by some other known player. Also, in light of current events, the absence of Gayle may not be such a bad thing.
For me, the attraction of PSL lies in the city - based system and the mix of known and unknown players.
