Sindh education

Published December 28, 2015

I WOULD like to highlight certain issues regarding education in Sindh. Every person thinks that quality education will bring positive change in one’s behaviour and resultantly, we can become a developed nation.

This will be possible only when the primary teachers who are entrusted with teaching at the early stages of education, realise that their role needs to be positive and employ the latest tools of learning. It is these teachers who are role models for a society. As such they should carry out their task with total devotion and honesty.

I remember my early education in a government school when only the best students were declared successful in annual exams while undeserving students were made to repeat class. The situation these days is that in the annual exams held in Sindh’s government schools, the supervisor asks a few questions and passes the entire class whether a student is present or absent.

I request the authorities to initiate plans to arrange training for teachers to equip them with updated teaching methods for them to contribute to their students’ development.
