GHALANAI: A two-day training in first aid, organised for the Levies personnel, concluded at the office of the assistant political agent at Bahi Daag here on Tuesday.

First aid trainer, Mohammad Tariq of Pakistan Red Crescent Society’s Mohmand chapter, conducted the course. He advised the Levies men to adopt basic first aid methods prescribed by the Pakistan Red Crescent while handling emergency cases.

Tariq said that the PRCS had been training targeted groups of youth for voluntary work to achieve the objective of providing one first aider in every household.

Assistant political agent, Biazai, Abdullah Shah, who was the chief guest on the occasion, emphasised the importance of the first aid in life and said that first aid was not a medical subject but was a life saving technique before availing any medical treatment.

He appreciated the PRCS efforts in the area and assured full cooperation of the local administration in that regard.

Abdullah Shah distributed certificates among 15 volunteers who underwent the training in first aid.
