PAKISTAN Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique announced Rs1m as compensation for the ones who died in the Jaffar Express incident and Rs300,000 for the injured.

This is the government’s response to consoling the victims and their families. The most important is passengers’ security. Why do we hear about so many railway accidents? Obviously, the answer is the pathetic railway system.

Pakistan railways should focus on laying an advance railway track system with modern, fast and reliable trains so that people should feel safe and comfortable while travelling.
