PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday arrested a couple for depriving people of Rs5 million in a fake business.
The suspects, Mohammad Iftikhar and his wife, Neelum Pari, will be produced before an accountability court today (Wednesday) for getting their physical custody, a NAB statement said.
The Bureau claimed that during inquiry it was revealed that the suspects lured people to invest their hard-earned money in their fake business of cloth and cattle trading, and a marble factory, on the promise of huge returns on their investment.
However, the suspects, after a few months, not only stopped paying profits but also refused to pay back the invested money to the investors.
The NAB has asked the affected persons to submit their claims with relevant documents to the Bureau to get their money back.
