KP exams

Published October 17, 2015

WHEN the PTI had won the mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to form a government, it had promised to build a fair and free system of education, but it has failed to fulfil its promise even after two-and-a-half years.

I took intermediate examinations this year and observed that students were using all sorts of means to resort to cheating while the authorities concerned looked helpless. Resourceful people are resorting to unfair means openly to pass the examinations while the government does nothing.

The provincial education minister was seen in Lahore helping Aleem Khan to dethrone Ayaz Sadiq recently. It means the KP minister has enough time and resources — if he wishes — to streamline his department’s working and contribute to the people’s welfare, renovate the education system and be serious about implementing educational reforms.
