LAHORE: World Martial Arts Council (WMAC) president Alan Foster has said the council is planning to hold World Martial Arts Games in Pakistan in 2017, expressing his complete satisfaction over the security situation in Pakistan.
A press release issued by the Sports Board Punjab here on Monday said: “The WMAC is planning to hold the World Martial Arts Games with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab as he (Foster) found nothing wrong as far as the security in the country is concerned.
“Pakistan is a peaceful country and can hold international sports events without any bother,” Foster was quoted as saying in the press release.
“We are quite hopeful that 88 WMAC member countries will take part in the mega event. I would also ask other countries to send their sports teams to Pakistan for international events,” he maintained.
Foster also visited various departments of the SBP and was quite impressed with the achievements of DG SBP Usman Anwar during the last couple of years.
He said there is great martial arts potential in Pakistan.
