RAWALPINDI: An activist of a banned outfit, who was placed on the fourth schedule watch list by the Punjab home department, was booked after he went missing from his home without informing the local police.

Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Masoom Nagar Kallar Syedan, had been booked by the police under the Anti-Terrorism Act, police sources told Dawn.

SP Ghayas Gul said Ghulam Mustafa had been booked by the police previously on the same charges (missing from his home).

Under Section IV of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1977, individuals placed on the watch list have to inform their local police station before leaving their registered address and also upon return.

Those on the watch list are required to provide a surety bond to the police for good behaviour and peaceful conduct after being released from prison.

According to police sources, 17 people have been placed in the Fourth Schedule of the ATA in the Rawalpindi district. Of these, eight were associated with different madressahs.
