OKARA: A station house officer on Friday evaded arrest in a court after he stormed out of it daring the judge for seeking record from him.

Cantonment police SHO Nowsher showed up in the court of Civil Judge Tajammul Hussain Chaudhry who asked him why he did not produce files of the cases he had been ordered to. As the judge reprimanded the SHO, the latter got unnerved and moved out blurting, “I am leaving court which may do whatever it likes.”

The judge ordered the SHO to stop and asked his staff to arrest him but he had already alerted his guards outside and they whisked him away. Upon court staff’s complaint of being threatened, the judge issued warrants for the SHO’s arrest and wrote a letter to the district police officer recommending suspension of the officer.
