LAHORE: A youth, who was a proclaimed offender in a murder case, was killed while his father-in-law was injured over enmity at Chuhng on Friday.

Police said Ghulam Mustafa, 25, and his father-in-law Nadeem, 55, residents of Sheikhupura, were going to receive their visas from an agent near the Multan Road when their two opponents riding on motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire at them. Both men suffered bullet injuries and were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital where Mustafa was declared dead on arrival while Nadeem was said to be in critical condition.

Sub-Inspector Asghar said Mustafa was a proclaimed offender in a murder case registered against him about three months back with Factory Area Police Station, Sheikhupura. He said the accused was planning to flee the country and was going to pick his visa. He said initial investigation revealed that the relatives of the man, who was killed by Mustafa, had killed him over old enmity.

Police have registered a case against Ijaz alias Jajji and five accomplices, all residents of Sheikhupura on the complaint of Mustafa’s family.

FOUND DEAD: Three men were found dead in separate areas of the city on Friday.

Police said Tariq Mehmood, 55, of Rawalpindi, who was living alone in a room of a hotel in the Naulakha area for last five years, was found dead in his bed. Police shifted the body to morgue.

Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector Akhtar Ali said Mehmood was suffering from heart problem and might have died due to cardiac arrest. He said the deceased was not in contact with his family and left his parental house some 15 years ago over some family matter.

In another case, a 45-year-old unidentified man was found dead in Anarkali.

Police said the man was an addict and died due to drug overdose. Police shifted the body to morgue and were taking measures for his identification.

An old man was found dead at a railway track at Shahdara Town. Police said the man in his 70s, yet to be identified, might have died due to some medical issue and shifted the body to morgue.
