SARGODHA: Three women were killed in Laliani village, 50km from here, on Thursday night allegedly over a domestic issue.

According to police reports, Manzoor Ahmad had developed a dispute with his sister-in-law, Zubaida Bibi, over the marriage of her daughter, Ishrat Bibi, which she arranged against Ahmad’s wishes.

The wedding was scheduled to take place in just a few days. This infuriated Ahmad, who axed to death Zubaida and her daughters -- Ishrat and Misbah -- and fled. Police reached the spot and sent the bodies to hospital for autopsy. They were conducting raids to arrest Ahmad.

ROBBERY: Unidentified suspects robbed a sub-inspector of an official wireless set and a 30-bore pistol with bullets.

Sajjid Shaheed police registered a case and started an investigation.

ACCIDENTS: Two accidents of motorcycle rickshaws were reported allegedly due to reckless driving of their young drivers killing two and injuring six passengers.

In the first incident on Faisalabad Road near commerce college, a motorcycle rickshaw carrying five passengers collided with a car resulting in the killing of a woman instantly, while the remaining passengers were injured. In another incident on Khushab Road, a rickshaw collided with a wagon resulting in the death of Mumtaz and injuries to Khalid and others.
