UNITED NATIONS: The UN human rights chief Zeid Raad al-Hussein on Thursday called for calm in the West Bank after a week of violence in the occupied territory, as well as occupied-East Jerusalem and inside Israel.
Mr Hussein warned that “more bloodshed will only lead to more hatred on both sides,” and that he is deeply concerned about the increasing number of attacks by both Israeli settlers and Palestinians, a press statement released here said.
He voiced concern about the number of Palestinians injured by live ammunition, which stands at 134, and the hundreds more injured by rubber bullets and tear gas.
