KARACHI: For the second time in three days Bismah Maroof and Anam Amin combined together to seal Bangladesh’s fate as Pakistan women cricketers completed a 2-0 One-day International clean sweep against the tourists by winning the second game at the Southend Club Cricket Stadium here on Tuesday.

Bismah scored 92 and left-arm spinner Anam claimed three wickets for 25 runs in Sunday’s 20-run win. The two of them were at it again two days later as Pakistan clinched a six-wicket victory to complete a grand double over Bangladesh after having already won the preceding T20 series by the same margin at the same venue last week.

In their final fixture of the short tour, Bangladesh never got going after their skipper Salma Khatun chose to bat first upon winning the toss.

Seamer Asmavia Iqbal dismissed Shamima Sultana (3), Fargana Hoque (0) and Lata Mondal (0) in her opening spell to leave Bangladesh struggling at 24-3 in the 13th over.

Baring opener Ayasha Rahman (39 off 56 balls, six fours), it was rough going as Anam stifled them with a miserly 10-over spell that saw her claim four wickets for only seven runs with five overs of being maiden.

Bangladesh only managed to reach 123-9 due to an eighth-wicket partnership of 47 between Nigar Sultana, who faced 109 balls to score 30 with two boundaries, and Ritu Moni (28 off 48, three fours).

Asmavia finished with three for 28.

Pakistan’s chase went smoothly as the in-form Bismah struck seven boundaries in making 41 from 66 deliveries. Opener Marina Iqbal contributed 31 off 67 balls with two fours, while Nain Abidi was stumped off Nahida Akter, who took 2-22, for a 41-ball 22 (two fours).

Anam was named player-of-the-match at the post-match ceremony which was graced by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan and Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.

Brief scores:

BANGLADESH 123-9 in 50 overs (Ayasha Rahman 39, Nigar Sultana 30 not out, Ritu Moni 28; Anam Amin 4-7, Asmavia Iqbal 3-28); PAKISTAN 124-4 in 38.3 overs (Bismah Maroof 41, Marina Iqbal 31, Nain Abidi 22; Nahida Akter 2-22).
