LAHORE: The City District Government of Lahore has finally decided to take action against owners/administrations of the private schools declining to withdraw increase in fee.

The action will be taken in a phased manner under which such schools will be served show cause notices from Tuesday (today) with a direction to immediately bring back the fee structure on 2014 position and submit reply within seven days.

“Similarly the schools about which the CDGL’s education wing is receiving complaints these days will also be served show cause notices to clarify their position immediately,” Lahore DCO retired Capt Muhammad Usman directed the Education EDO while presiding over a meeting here on Monday.

In phase-II, he said, those failing to reverse the fee structure by flouting the recently passed private schools’ ordinance would be taken to task. “Cases will be registered against such schools besides arrests of the owners,” he added.

RECORD: The CDGL on Monday claimed to have issued 15,460 Fards (ownership certificate) since Jan 1 to Oct 5 to the applicants through computerised land record centre established at the Town Hall.

Meanwhile, according to a spokesman, the CDGL’s price control magistrates on Monday had 67 shopkeepers arrested besides imposing fine amounting to Rs35,200 on others for overcharging and hoarding.
