JI to support PTI in NA-122, PP-147 by-polls

LAHORE: The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) on Monday announced that it had decided to support Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the coming by-elections for National Assembly's NA-122 and Punjab Assembly's PP-147 seats.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, leaders of the two parties said Jamaat-i-Islami had decided to support the PTI candidate in NA-122 and will also stand with its ally in the elections for PP-147 which are scheduled to be held on Oct 11.
NA-122 is one of four constituencies where PTI chairman Imran Khan had demanded voters’ thumbprint verification following his defeat to Ayaz Sadiq during the 2013 general elections.
Announcing his party's decision, JI leader Mian Maqsood said the call was made upon the conclusion of three dialogue sessions with the PTI team. He added that the dialogue was held to iron out details as JI had its own reservations over seat adjustment with PTI.
Maqsood said he hoped PTI will win the NA seat and grab Punjab's PP-147 as well, adding that JI itself was solely focusing on the upcoming local body polls.

Speaking on the occasion, PTI central leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar thanked the JI leadership and said his party will easily secure the critical seat as people were aware of the government's incompetence.
"Those ruling us for the last 30 years have failed to solve the people's problems and there isn't a single public department that is corruption free," said Sarwar.
Referring to local government elections, the former governor maintained that a government could not be called democratic until and unless it devolves its powers to the local level.
"It is only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) where we not only devolved power but the funds as well," said Sarwar.
Polling for NA-122 is scheduled for Oct 11 and PTI has fielded former provincial minister Abdul Aleem Khan against Ayaz Sadiq.
The ECP is setting up 284 polling stations for this by-election and there will be 673 polling booths for male and female voters in the constituency. The election commission has also decided to deploy Pakistan Rangers Punjab personnel for the by-poll. Meanwhile, PP-147, which also overlaps with areas represented in NA-122 on the national level, will have 111 polling stations.
The by-poll will be held in the light of a decision of the Punjab election commission's tribunal which ordered re-election for NA-122, declaring the election in the constituency null and void over PTI Chairman Imran Khan's petition challenging the 2013 election result.
NA-122 is among the four controversial constituencies — the other three being NA-110 (Sialkot), NA-125 (Lahore) and NA-154 (Lodhran) — where PTI had demanded voters’ thumbprint verification in the hopes of finding a solution acceptable to all concerned.

They are not going to win any way. I wonder Sarwar sahib did not know that how corrupt is PMLN before he became the governor of Punjab. Perhaps he found PTI more attractive because they are more corrupt and have not principles!

PTI & JI or all similar parties have their vested interests , they do in contrary to what they preach , is PTI candidate a common man , every knows his reputation and about ill wealth what he has plundered by land grabbing practices. People of Lahore knows much about everyone and will decide at their own will to whom they should vote .

So PTI had no mandate after-all. They had to depend on smaller parties to win elections for PTI. Imran Khan was telling people that all votes belong to him and he had the mandate that was stolen, it was a lie then? PML Q , PAT, SR, PPP all supporting PTI. Anyhow for power everything is good. what is ideology? PTI don't know when it comes to power grabbing.

Ok so PTI will make alliance with smaller parties to try to win bi-elections?. Khan sb what will you do in 2018 when these parties will contest separately for their own seats. Khan sb, you have to have real mandate to make you true leader. That true mandate can come though only performance. after letting down KPK people you are thinking to make some revival in Lahore?

You mandate was stolen as said by you yesterday. Then why on earth youa re requesting others to give you some mandate or support? even though you win it, but in 2018 these parties will contest separately and then real mandate will come out. But PTI's real mandate we have seen, that is why they are forced to join hands with smaller parties.

People have the real power Khan sb. you forgot it. now you are forced to join hands with smaller parties. In next elections these parties will contest seperately, then you will have to go to common people, then nobody would be there to loan you its mandate. You have to learn to start perform. that is only way out now.

@Umer Sir, infact PTI has left confused all of its supporters. Because PTI was talking for 3 years almost that its mandate was stolen and at the end it had to join hands with other parties to have some respite. PTI, now supporters are also raising questions on as to where PTI real mandate is which Imran Khan used to say about it.

But note that Imran Khan is not able to end 'corruption, Patwari culture, injustice' and did not even botherto perform. any projects by the way.yeah he speaks of corruptionb reduction but himself is involved in attracting corrupts. Nawaza nd shahbaz are looting money, but Moddy's rating agency is blind in giving Pakistani economy a positive rating. This is right question do you want Taliban supporters to get in Power?

How is JI supporting PTi in this by-polls a question of mandate? JI and PTI are a coalition in KPK. This is politics. Coalition partners support each other. If their coalition had failed, JI may have supported PMLN or stood their own candidate. Not long ago, PMLN+PPP+JUIF stood together against PTi and lost in a by-poll. No one raised questions of PMLN's claimed mandate then.

Our Pakistani nation is wasting such a great and honest man Imran Khan. If nothing else, he would have helped fixing the 70 years old corrupt system. A great bad luck for Pakistan for Imran Khan not having in power because of Muslim league Noon's years and years of corruption forgery and destruction of institutions. It is always questionable that PTI ask other parties for its support. If other parties support PMLN that is OK and increase the chances of winning. On the basis of ground realities PTI is going to win with a big margin. People of NA 122 understood well the fake promises of PMLN and we what to do. PTI is the only option left.
