LAHORE: The Old Ravians Union executive committee and faculty and staff members of the Government College University, Lahore, on Saturday expressed deep condolences on the sad demise of eminent Old Ravian Justice Javed Iqbal.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hasan Amir Shah said Justice Javed Iqbal was a source of inspiration for the university students and void created by his death could not be filled.

He said the university in collaboration with ORU would soon hold a condolence reference to remember the services of its eminent alumnus for the country and his literary and philosophical works.

ORU president Kamran Lashari and honorary secretary Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt remembered the last visit of Justice Javed Iqbal to GCU in April last year at the annual reunion dinner of the Old Ravians.

ORU general-secretary Mian Muhammad Ahmad Cahacharr, vice-president advocate Tayyab Rizvi, former federal secretary Qazi Afaq Hussain and other executive members of the union also expressed condolences.
