Nixor College, FPS win inter-school tennis

KARACHI: Foundation Public School and Nixor College emerged as winners in the Horlicks Inter-school Tennis Tournament which concluded here at the Karachi Gymkhana Club on Sunday.

Legendary hockey player Sohail Abbas was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes among the players.

The tournament was part of a series of tournaments organised every year by Razia Babar and Nabil Hoodbhoy of Perfect Strokes as part of a school tennis initiative programme.

This edition saw an increase in number of teams participating from 21 in the February event to 30 in the current competition.

In the U-15 age group, Foundation Public School beat Karachi Grammar School after a titanic battle in the doubles. FPS players eventually prevailed over the KGS opponents, displaying fine skills and competitiveness.

In the 16-18 age group, Nixor College emerged winners over Karachi Grammar School. The Nixor players, especially Ibrahim, scored outstanding winners, showcasing great court angles to win over his opponent.
