If there is something uber cute on the Internet today, it has got to be the pictures shared by Amitabh Bachchan, in which his candid moments with veteran actor Waheeda Rehman have been captured. Amitabh has called her his favourite from his early cinema days.

Wishing all a mirthful Ganpati, Big B wrote about the book launch of The Big Indian Wedding where he met his old co-star Waheeda. Referring to their cinematic journey together, he said that even today Waheeda has that air of childlike humour about her: "And then the lovely Waheeda Rehman, my favourite from the time I started seeing cinema...and her childlike mischievous banter, resonant from the time I met her 45 years ago, and then through films that I did with her...Reshma Shera, Kabhi Kabhie and Adalat and Trishul and so many others."

But despite being surrounded by many guests, Senior Bachchan wasn't bothered about sharing some moments with his 'favourite' star: "Still with Waheeda ji and sharing a little personal moment, which harps on the presence of some guests and their...well ….never mind...!!! hahaha"

While Bachchan who is gearing up for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Wazir was last seen in Piku. Waheeda Rehman, who has been off the screen for a while now, was seen playing Dadi in Abhishek Bachchan starrer Delhi 6.

So many heroins have come and gone, but she remains to be my all time favorite. Has the era of elegant heroins passed?

Wow Waheeda ji. God has stopped making women like that anymore. Such grace...such poise. See her in Pyasa with great Gurudatt, Teesri kasam with legendary Raj kapoor, or in Guide with evergreen Dev Anand. All classics of indian cinema. I am sure Amitabh and Waheeda must be crooning together that song from Pyasa - waqt ne kia....kya hansee.n sitam..hum rahe na hum...tum rahe na tum. The bollywood of 50s, 60s and early 70s, had attained such artistic heights. Wish we can go back to those days.

One other actress equally talented and graceful like Waheedaji was Nutan. Nutan was one of the finest actress from Hindi cinema. She paired with Amitabh in Saudagar. Other talented heroines would be Smita Patil , Madhuri Dixit.

@Furqan Khan - Agree completely. Apart from being an artist par excellence, the way bachchan sahab has carried himself over the decades....the amazing person that he is. Educated, cultured, humble, wise and a complete family man. If india has to have a face and a name, it has to be Amitabh Bachchan.
