RAWALPINDI: All the first three positions in the intermediate annual examinations held under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi were clinched by the students of private colleges, exposing the performance of the government educational institutes.

On Saturday, the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced its result of intermediate examination held in April 2015 and again, the girls from private college clinched overall first and third positions of annual higher secondary school certificate examinations.

However, a boy student from Attock’s Pindi Ghaib tehsil managed to achieve the overall second position.

The results of the exams held in April were announced at a ceremony with provincial minister for labour and manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar in the chair.

The function was attended by PML-N leaders Sardar Nasim, Dr Jamal Nasir besides officials concerned, students and their parents.

According to the results, Shahzeen Suleman, a pre-medical student of Punjab College for Women, Satellite Town, bagged the overall first position by obtaining 1025 of the total 1150 marks.

She was followed by pre-engineering group student Shahid Nadeem of Oxford Public Boys Higher Secondary School, Pindi Ghaib, Attock, who scored 1,014 marks.

The third position was shared by pre-engineering group students, Aqsa Malik and Sana Akhtar of the Punjab College for Women, Satellite Town, who obtained 1012 marks each.

In the general science group (girls), Natasha Javed of Punjab College for Women, Satellite Town, stood first with 994 marks while Arshia Ejaz of the same institution got 990 marks and remained second. Another student of the same institution, Lyba Ejaz, remained third with 975 marks.

In the general science group (boys), Osama Rehman bagged the first position by scoring 948 marks.

He is a student of Steps College for Boys, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. Mohammad Mudassir of Military College Jhelu, Sarai Alamgir, remained second by obtaining 923 marks and Zohaib Yousaf of the same college with 922 marks was placed in the third place.

In the pre-engineering group (girls), Aqsa Malik, who secured the overall third position, bagged the first position, Ammarah Waheed, of Punjab College for Women, (1010 marks) second and Khadija Mehboob Dar of the same institution remained third with 1003 marks.

Shahid Nadeem of Oxford Public Boys Higher Secondary School, Pindi Gheb, who bagged the overall second position, got the first position in the pre-engineering group (boys). Basit Ali of Kallar Kahar Science College for Boys, Kallar Kahar, Chakwal, got 998 marks to grab the second position. Another student of the same institution, Mohammad Yasaal Minhas, with 995 marks was placed in the third position.

In the pre-medical group (girls), the overall top position holder, Shahzeen, remained first with 1025 marks while Sana Akhtar, who shared the overall third position in the exam, second and Sabina Ahmad of Punjab College for Women, Satellite Town, third with 1008 marks.

In the pre-medical group (boys), Umer Irshad, of Punjab College of Information Technology, Satellite Town, and Touseef Ali of Kallar Kahar Science College for Boys shared the first position by obtaining 1010 marks each.

Another student of the same institution, Matiullah, grabbed the second position by securing 999 marks. He was followed by Abdullah Azzam of Steps College for Boys, Satellite Town.
